Dear Friends and Supporters,
Just a few more days and we head off to the Philippines for camps, graduations and board meetings. It is that time of year again. This year four others will accompany me and hopefully do all the work while I “escort the tour”. We have had a lot of fun fundraising, which included a couple of dinners at our house and many other activities. We are now ready to go, so Philippines here we come.
Erik and Rebecca's Wedding
Another church group here in Australia has just returned from their annual Philippine work party and encouragement trip. This year a dentist went too. During her stay of one week she pulled 121 teeth, did 65 fillings without a drill, just scraped and dug, then did three root canals too. One boy needed 22 extractions. They pulled two then gave him a rest. During the rest time he ran away and has not been seen again! I don’t think that he appreciated the visit. Painting was done, an automatic water system for the pigs was installed and another 1000 litre tank for the school water was installed too.
Helping hands on building site, Davao
Mobile Mission Maintenance is preparing a team to go to Davao in April to finish off the building under construction there. If you are interested in joining this work team then please let me know. We still need about $30,000 to complete the building. Please pray. By the time they get to the Philippines the building will be ready for the final stages of painting, tiling and having all the fittings done. This year has been a year of teams. We are so thankful for the blessings that these groups have brought our people and we hope that our folk have been a blessing in return.
April 21st we head for Myanmar and the opening and dedication of the house and church building there. Everything should be ready by then we hope. Dewayne Liebrandt from Thailand will come with me and during that time hold a 3-day seminar for the believers in Yangon. Dewayne will also be teaching video production and filming. It is the hottest time of year, which I believe is very hot! Not quite sure why they chose that time to open the building however … I will then go on to the US and Canada from April 29th until the 20th of May for deputation meetings, so more travel.
Guests at our fund-raising dinner
Lill took her mother back to Norway and is there also doing deputation meetings and presenting the work. She should return to Australia while I am in the Philippines. We miss Grandma and Lill very much but were so thankful that she was able to visit us and stay so long.
The reason of course for the extended stay was because of Erik and Rebecca’s wedding. They are now the happy couple living not too far from us. The wedding seems ancient history now as we are gearing up for another one in July, this time in Japan. With the house emptying we decided to move our International office back into the house saving us a lot of rent money and travel expenses. Do pray for us as we travel, that the camp team will be a blessing and that Lill will also be protected during her travels.
Until next time,
God Bless,
Neville, Lill and family
