Prayer Points
- Praise for a successful conference
- Building needs for Myanmar
Dear Friends and Supporters,
It is ages since sending the last newsletter and this one should have been written weeks ago. Following the conference though, there has hardly been a moment until now and for that I apologize. Thank you all who have prayed and given to help make the conference the success it was.
Some 175 people from 19 countries joined us in Chiang Mai for a blessed time of fellowship, teaching, fun, prayer and challenge. Thanks to all of you who came, thanks to Dewayne and Jackie and team who made all local arrangements, thanks to those who gave extra so that some who perhaps would not have been able to come were able to do so, and thanks to those who helped in many behind the scene duties and jobs that were unseen but so necessary.

Our youngest delegate was 4 and our oldest 83, the rest of us were somewhere in-between. We were deaf, hearing, hard of hearing and deaf blind but united in our love for the Lord and our desire to see more deaf people come to know who Jesus is.
Joy and Johannes with the Yun family from Korea
Joy and Johannes were the key speakers. Johannes as you know is both deaf and blind and his deep messages were an inspiration to us all as Joy voiced for him. Buddy from the Philippines, Barnabas from Singapore, David from Uganda and Lee Doo Hyong from Korea all shared the preaching times and blessed us all. Country reports, special songs and presentations filled to overflowing the rest of the program. Two of our deaf board members want the next conference to be a week long! Well … we will see.
I think that we got a bit spoiled in Thailand. I don’t know how we will ever find another place to measure up to the hospitality, quality of hotel, available trips and the cheap price that we had in Thailand. Our next conference? Uganda, here we come. The flag was handed to Uganda and God willing our next one will be in Africa. Start saving your pennies, you will need quite a few!

Myanmar
Following the conference a group of us travelled into Myanmar and had a wonderful three days experience in the country and visiting the ministry in Yangon. While there we learnt that we were to lose the building that we had been using for the church. At the end of August, we saw the last meeting in that place. We urgently need to purchase our own building to use as church and home for workers and needy deaf people.
We will be launching an appeal for this in the near future. We ask for your prayers as we look for a suitable place and if necessary, finance. God willing, I hope to return to Myanmar in early October.
God Bless, Neville and Lill and family
